Pupil Job Vacancies
We want to help to prepare our pupils for the world of work and support them in developing their aspirations for the future. To do this, we identify a number of specially designed 'jobs' that they can undertake in school as part of the normal working week. These 'jobs' help to develop important life skills; they have the opportunity to experience the process of applying for a job, considering the job description, completing an application form and considering the salary.
This term's vacancies are detailed below. Interested pupils must look carefully at the job description and decide if they have the skills and qualities that we are looking for. They must then complete the application form, either electronically or hand written and hand it in to school by the date given. If we are interested in their application they will be invited to attend an interview with two senior members of staff. Successful applicants will be invited to take up their posts for a fixed period of time and will be paid with Superstar Savers points.
As with any other employment, pupils will be able to resign from their post at any time by giving a week's notice. They can also be released from their duties if they are unable to carry out their duties effectively.
Whilst we try to make this as close to real life experience as possible, we are always sensitive to individual needs and we give lots of support and guidance to pupils.
This term we are hoping to appoint:
- Library assistants
- Lunchtime dining hall assistants
- Lunchtime office assistants
The job descriptions are below, along with an application form that can be downloaded.
