LEGO Therapy
LEGO Therapy is a collaborative, play based therapy which allows children to work together and build LEGO models.
Instead of a child completing a LEGO set by themselves, they work in a team of 3. The task of building is split into three roles: builder, supplier and engineer. By doing this, children will have continuous social interaction. Children practice key skills, such as:
· Turn taking
· Listening
· Following instructions
· Eye contact
· Problem solving
· Collaboration
· Verbal and non-verbal communication
LEGO Therapy takes place in small group sessions during which natural opportunities will arise allowing the children to resolve problems. The complexity of the build will change to meet the needs of the group.
