Another Friday, another chance to celebrate some of the wonderful things happening across Orgill! Our Over & Above children this week have been noticed for all sorts of reasons - fantastic effort, thoughtful choices, determination, kindness and simply being someone who makes our school a better place to be. The best part? Often, they weren't doing it for recognition. They were doing the right thing simply because it was the right thing to do. A huge well done to this week's stars - we are very proud of you!

Have your say about the future! The Children's Commissioner for England is inviting children and young people to share their hopes, ideas and priorities for the future through The Big Future. It's a chance for children to have their voices heard and help shape what they want life to look like as they grow up. & Three weeks in and what a lot we already have to celebrate! This week's Over and Above children have really impressed us. It's been lovely to see our children growing in confidence, supporting one another and taking pride in what they do. Sometimes going Over & Above isn't about doing something extraordinary - it's about making a great choice, keeping going when something is tricky, or doing something thoughtful for someone else. Well done everyone!

In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
