One city. Two year groups. Hundreds of memories waiting to happen! Today, our Year 5 and 6 children swapped their classrooms for cobbled streets, ancient walls and breathtaking views as they began their Edinburgh adventure. Their first stop: Edinburgh Castle - a place packed with history, mystery and stories from long ago. The children spent the day exploring, discovering and soaking up everything this remarkable landmark has to offer. The adventure continued beneath the city's streets at The Real Mary King's Close, where they stepped back in time to uncover the fascinating stories of Edinburgh's hidden past. Day one is almost complete, and if the smiles are anything to go by, Edinburgh is already working its magic! Photos will be uploaded shortly

A huge well done to each and every one of our Over and Above awardees, this week!
In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
