What an incredible afternoon of talent at Orgill Primary School! A huge well done to every single child who took to the stage in today's Talent Show. From our youngest Reception children confidently dancing in front of a packed hall to our Year 6 pupils performing the famous Cup Song, every act was met with huge applause and appreciation. We were treated to an amazing variety of performances, including singing, dancing, guitar playing, gymnastics and even some incredibly impressive rapid maths! It was wonderful to see so many children sharing their talents, passions and personalities with confidence and enthusiasm. A special thank you goes to our audience too, who showed such respect and encouragement throughout. Performing in front of others takes real courage and every single performer should be incredibly proud of themselves. Our judges certainly had a difficult job choosing a winner but after much deliberation they selected our fantastic Year 5 group, whose energetic singing and dancing to an England World Cup song had the whole hall clapping, singing and joining in. They completely owned the stage with confidence, personality and plenty of sass! Congratulations to all of our performers - you truly made us proud. We can't wait to do it all again next year! Finally, a huge thank you to Miss Morgan who came to me with an idea and executed it beautifully. Our children are incredibly lucky to have you!

In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
