On Monday, some of our children attended the Key Steps County final at Penrith. Our children were representing Copeland in their age group, after winning the district competition earlier on in the year. The children had to perform a floor routine, vault and body management which entailed a showcase of their gymnastics skills. The girls did us all proud, showing determination and confidence throughout the competition. Overall, they placed 5th in the county. We're incredibly proud of their hard work. Well done, girls!
In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
