Today is all about you, Mrs Capner! After 29 incredible years, today we say a fond farewell to a very special member of our school family. The difference you've made to our school community over nearly three decades is impossible to put into words, and we know so many children and families will have their own happy memories of you. Thank you, Mrs Capner, for 29 years of kindness, dedication and unwavering support. You'll always be part of our school family, and we wish you every happiness in your retirement.

What. A. Day! Today was all about celebrating our incredible Year 6 children at LeaversFest! Families joined us for an afternoon packed with sunshine, smiles, laughter and lots of special memories as we marked the end of their primary school journey. The fun didn't stop there... our Summer Fayre was buzzing from start to finish! It was fantastic to see so many families and friends come together to enjoy the stalls, games, treats and community spirit. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported us and helped make today such a memorable one. Days like these remind us what a wonderful school community we have.
In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
