Our first week back! A little snapshot of life at Orgill this week - busy classrooms, happy faces, lots of learning and plenty of fun along the way! It's been wonderful to have everyone back and to see our children settling into their new year groups so confidently. What a brilliant first week!

OVER & ABOVE And just like that... we're back! There is something really special about the first few days of a new school year - new beginnings, new classrooms, new challenges and lots of excited faces. I have been incredibly impressed by our children this week. They have settled back into school life so well and have shown such positive attitudes, enthusiasm and kindness. They have reminded us exactly what makes Orgill such a lovely place to be. What a way to begin!

In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
