Now that our Year 5 and 6 children are home safely from their Edinburgh adventure, there's one important thing to say... Thank you! Thank you to our incredible staff who gave their time, energy and endless enthusiasm to make this residential such a success. From early mornings and late nights to keeping everyone safe, happy and smiling, your dedication never went unnoticed. The children have returned home with wonderful memories, new experiences and stories they'll be sharing for years to come. None of that would have been possible without you. We are so grateful for everything you do, not just this week, but every day. What a team.

One city. Three days. Memories that will last far longer. Today, our Year 5 and 6 children packed their suitcases for the final time and set off for one last Edinburgh adventure. Their final stop was the wonderful Edinburgh Zoo, where they have spent the day exploring, discovering and meeting animals from around the world. From fascinating facts to unforgettable encounters, there was plenty to keep everyone smiling as they enjoyed their last few hours together in Scotland's capital. As they begin their journey home this afternoon, they leave Edinburgh with far more than souvenirs. They return with new experiences, shared laughter, growing independence and countless memories made with friends. Our Edinburgh chapter may be coming to an end, but the stories will be told for weeks to come. We look forward to welcoming our adventurers back to school later today.

Join us for our FREE Coffee Morning on Thursday 18th June, hosted by our Pastoral Team. We're delighted to welcome Ali Ashton, Specialist Advisory Teacher, and the HUB2U team, who will be joining us to share information, offer support, and answer any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity to find out about the services available to support children and families. We look forward to seeing you there!
In the Spring of 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) identified and invited 924 schools that met a number of eligibility criteria to apply to become an accredited English Hub as part of a new national initiative to drive up standards in literacy. In the Autumn of 2018, following a competitive application and selection process, the DfE announced that 34 schools across England had been identified to take on this role.
Orgill Primary School is very proud to be one of those Hub schools and we are excited by the opportunities that this offers to schools in Cumbria and wider areas.
