The School Day

Our school is open 32.1 hours per week.

The school day begins at 9am for pupils in Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 (gates open at 8:45am) and 8.45am for pupils in the early years.  Children should not arrive before this time unless they are going to breakfast club which runs from 7:30am until 8.45am.  Parents of pupils in Key Stage 1 and the early years should escort them to their entrance.  Parents of pupils in key Stage 2 should leave them at their gate to the playground.

All children enjoy a mid morning break and they can enjoy a drink and a snack at this time.  Water coolers are available throughout the school.  Children receive a free fruit or vegetable snack as part of a government initiative.

Lunchtime begins at 11.45am for children in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.  Children are taken to the school hall where they can collect their chosen meal from the hatch.  Key Stage 2 lunchtime begins at 12pm once the younger children are all settled in the hall.  Children then enjoy the many activities available on the playground until 1pm when they return to class.

Assemblies are held on a Monday morning and a Friday afternoon.

The school day ends at 3.10pm  for pupils in Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 and 3.30pm for pupils in the Nursery/2s. Children in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 will be handed over to a known adult.  There is a payable afterschool club which runs until 4:30pm and also various internal after school clubs available for children to attend, these vary depending upon the time of year.
