Reading for Pleasure: Transforming your school's reading culture (TSRC)
Evidence-based leadership CPD for primary English Leads
The TSRC programme is a sustained, research based CPD programme aimed at primary English Leads. During the course of the programme participants will engage deeply with reading for pleasure pedagogy and leadership theory to transform their school's reading culture. Participants will attend 5 sessions and complete gap tasks in between sessions. Gap tasks will be related to developing participant's own knowledge of children's literature, understanding of reading for pleasure culture in their school. Those who commit will be expected to attend all sessions.

- Understand the research underpinning RfP practice and pedagogy
- Widen knowledge of children's literature
- Transform whole school reading culture in your school
- Develop the leadership skills to initiate and sustain change
- Become advocates for RfP and share experiences and best practice

Optional Workshops:
In addition to the Core Sessions outline above, New Vision English Hub are offering a series of optional workshops, designed to complement and enhance the core programme offer. These 30 minute remote workshops will focus on specific, practical elements of creating an RfP culture. Participants on the TSRC programme will be invited to sign up for these free workshops, according to their school focus.

This programme is aimed at primary English Leaders from schools who have engaged with the English Hub programme in the past.

Supporting Early Language Development Programme
Ensure the best start for all pupils in their language development
As you we are sure that you are aware, the development of early language is a crucial pillar of a child’s personal growth. However, according to research by Speech and Language UK, at least 1.7 million children in this country are behind with talking and understanding of words. Wider research and data confirm this picture. The percentage of pupils formally identified as having a primary special need in speech, language and communication is steadily rising - up to 22.5% in 2021, compared with 18.8% in 2015.3.
The English Hub programme is therefore offering a six session course, designed to equip teachers and leaders with a practical pedagogical understanding of both typical language development and also how to support pupils who are struggling with language acquisition:

- Identifying and Supporting SLCN
- Making Change: Sustaining Change
- Sharing the School Improvement Journey
Who is the SELDP programme for?
The course is primarily aimed at those in early years leadership such as the school’s head teacher, early years lead and SENDCO. The staff members will take responsibility for the cascading of training within their school.

HFL Reading Fluency Project
This CPD event will provide an overview of the transformational teaching strategies skilfully woven throughout the HFL Reading Fluency Project.
HFL Reading Fluency: The Bridge to Comprehension
In this modular programme, delegates will explore what reading fluency is - and what it isn't - while learning how to apply evidence-informed strategies in reading lessons, within Key Stage 2 classrooms, to help all pupils become successful, volitional readers. This programme is designed to enhance and complement current reading practices and policy in school.
